Draftsperson / CAD Operator and Field Technician – Oil and Gas Projects

The Draftsperson/CAD Operator component of the position requires a minimum AS in Computer Drafting and Design Technology, with AutoCAD and ESRI background. Two to three years of experience is preferred and GIS certification is desirable. The successful candidate in this position will perform environmental drafting and produce map outputs for project reports. The Draftsperson will create Figures and Tables to accompany project reports. The position will involve working and communicating with Project Managers to create plans as directed, and producing accurate, timely, and visually pleasing map outputs that can be easily interpreted for quarterly monitoring reports, BGT closure reports, and other professional documents. The ideal applicant will have documented experience in the oil and gas industry.
The Field Technician component of the position will assist with assessments/investigations of soil and groundwater for petroleum releases associated with oil/gas production locations in the Farmington and Durango areas. Since the position encompasses field work for data recording, prior experience operating GPS to navigate on oil and gas access roads and to locate remote well sites, along with good field mapping skills, is needed to succeed in this position. The ability to operate field screening equipment including OVM, TPH analyzer, and mercury vapor meter is a plus, along with other sampling equipment to obtain soil or groundwater samples.

Senior Geologist/Environmental Scientist/Engineer – Senior Project Manager Level

AES has an opening for a Senior Project Manager Level position to oversee all stages of a project from creating cost estimates and submitting bids; to assigning and overseeing staff work tasks; maintaining deadlines; managing budgets; meeting with clients; developing client/consultant business relationships; and reviewing and presenting final reports in a timely and efficient manner. Of key importance is the willingness and ability to mentor and train project managers and assist them in professional development. The position requires a minimum BS in Geology, Engineering or related field, with an MS preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience is required, particularly a demonstrated knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, rules and regulations of UST/LUST. A PG or PE is required.
The applicant must have documented strong experience in the oil and gas industry; knowledge of environmental release response and investigation; and knowledge of industry regulations which will be requested to be outlined during the interview process. The successful candidate will have prior experience training and mentoring staff; meeting with clients and regulatory officials; overseeing project submittal deadlines and budgets; and managing multiple projects.
